General
What is IPayForYou?
IPayForYou brings together people who cannot pay a bill (people seeking help) and people who would like to pay it (supporters). We check bills and payee accounts. We are not a payment service and not a bank: we do not accept any money for bills and do not forward any. We are not a charitable organisation and do not issue donation receipts.
Why don't I transfer the money to you?
If your money went through our account, it would require a banking licence – and there would be a place where money can get lost. That's why you transfer directly. This way every euro ends up where it is meant to go.
Who is behind IPayForYou?
IPayForYou is operated by MechtaNet UG (haftungsbeschränkt). You can find all details in the legal notice. Legal notice · About us
In which languages is IPayForYou available?
In 12 languages – including Arabic from right to left. The language comes from your browser or phone, and you can change it at any time in the menu at the top.
People seeking help
Does it cost anything to get help?
It is free for you. You do not receive any money – the bill is paid directly to the payee.
Which bills can I submit?
Bills from companies and public bodies that concern you yourself – for example electricity, rent, doctor, daycare or insurance. Transfers to private individuals are only possible for landlords with a verified rental agreement.
Why do I need an ID?
This way we make sure there is a real person behind every bill and that no one uses several accounts. Only our review team sees the copy of your ID, and it is automatically deleted after the review.
How long does the review take?
We usually check the bill within 1–2 working days. If we have questions, we will get in touch.
Is there a guarantee that my bill will be paid?
No. There is no entitlement to a bill being approved or paid. So submit it as early as possible before the due date.
What do I do when someone has taken on my bill?
Then please do not pay it yourself. As soon as the payment is confirmed, you will be notified – please then confirm that the bill has been settled.
Supporters
How do I pay a bill?
Redeem credits from your balance for this (packages from 2.29 € per credit). Afterwards you see the payee, IBAN and payment reference – with a GiroCode to scan.
What happens if I don't transfer the money in time?
There is a deadline for the transfer and the proof. If it passes, we may end your payment of the bill – the redeemed credit is then not refunded.
What if a bill turns out to be false?
If an approved bill turns out to be false, we credit the redeemed credit back to you.
Will I find out who the person is?
You see the first name or “Anonymous”, the city and the story – never the full name, address or document. Contact outside the platform is not allowed.
Payment and credits
What am I paying for when I buy credits?
With a credit you pay for our work: we check every bill and the payee account before you see it. You then transfer the bill itself directly to the payee – that money never passes through us.
How many credits does a bill cost?
- Bills up to 250.00 €: 1 credit
- Bills up to 1 000.00 €: 2 credits
- Larger bills: 3 credits
Does my balance expire?
No. Your balance does not expire. It is not transferable and is not paid out – except in the case of a withdrawal.
How can I pay?
On the website by bank transfer, and depending on the offer also by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. In the apps, you buy through the App Store or Google Play.
Can I withdraw from a purchase?
Consumers have a right of withdrawal when buying a package on our website, in accordance with the information on the right of withdrawal. For unused credits we refund the purchase price proportionately. Once all credits of a package have been redeemed, our service has been fully performed and the right of withdrawal has expired, provided you have expressly agreed to this beforehand. For purchases in the apps, the refund rules of Apple or Google apply.
Withdraw from contract Information on the right of withdrawal
Do I get a donation receipt?
No. We are not a charitable organisation and do not issue donation receipts. Your payment is a voluntary gift to the person seeking help.
Safety and privacy
How do you check the bills?
We check whether the document is genuine, whether the amount and payment reference are correct, and whether the payee is a real company or organisation.
The IBAN must demonstrably belong to the payee. We do not approve accounts of the person seeking help or of persons close to them. Private landlords only with a verified rental agreement.
Who sees my data?
Bills and proofs are seen only by the person themselves and our review team. Payment details are seen only by whoever has taken on a bill.
How are my documents stored?
Bills, proofs and ID copies are stored encrypted on our server and are automatically deleted after fixed periods. We remove location data from photos.
Is it one hundred percent safe?
We check with great care, but we cannot completely rule out deception. If you notice something, report the bill – we remove suspicious bills from the list immediately.
Account and app
Is there an app?
The apps for iPhone and Android are in preparation. Until then, everything works here in the browser – on your phone, too. Apps
How do you protect my account?
We only store passwords as a hash, and after several failed attempts we slow down logins. Our review team also logs in with a second factor.
How do I delete my account?
Yourself, at any time, under “Account” – in the app, too. There you can download all your data beforehand.
How do I reach you?
